Put a new plug on and still the same? Dont want wast my money if its not the cdi unit I have seen one for 32 pounds is that the average price ?
Depends on the quality and spec.ide have a go at checking the coil next..whip the cap off and see if the lead arcs to the frame.if not...it could be naffed.seems like its silly season for coils going.but could still be CDI or wiring prob.mine gave up charging the battery the other day..too cold to sod with it.if you got another bike to try it on and it don't spark then its a naff coil.cdi units to me are witch craft.
Best thing you can do is borrow a CDI unit thats compatible...there's so many different types that I couldn't say what would work or not.
Right.if your up to it..find the cdi...on the socket there should be a black/white wire...this is the wire that goes to your ignition switch and shorts with the green wire on the switch to kill the engine...if you can disconnect that black/white wire you can basically say your engine is in its ready to fire up mode.its a long shot...but..your switch could be naff..if it starts after disconnecting that wire..change the switch..my bike starts with no switch connected at all.what bike is it..2 stroke..4stroke
Checked all wires and the stator is getting a pulse and no breaks in the wires so going order a cdi unit from eBay is that the best place..?
Petrol scooters is cheapest I found and they can be contacted on the phone too.whip the old cdi off and tell them which type it is and they may even taken you order over the phone.do it before about 3oclock and they normally get it to year next day
Seams that way.his was coil like mine.if your cdi replacement helps, might be an idea to do a few checks with a multi meter about the differences in pin resistance etc against old knackered one and the new one..could be a way to help others find out if there CDI has a problem or not.don't known anything bout them ..despite being into electrical stuff.could be good to have a guru of CDI on here tell us about them.
