Scooter temperature display?

Hi,
so I'm about to rebuild my aerox, and this time I want to have a head temperature display so I can feel safe. My rox is from 97 and had the digital temperature meter, which was of course removed to fit a downhill handlebar. I still have the sensor (the short one).

So, what are my options for a temperature display? I can only remember the stage6 rev counter/temperature display, but that's way too expensive. Is there some sort of DIY option like using a display from other sort of device or even using the one that's in the tachometer somehow?
