100mphscooter.com is holding a ‘100% Scooter Event’ at; Elvington Airfield, York, Postcode: YO41 4AU. on Sunday 02 October 2011. Shiny Red will be there also! Just thought id mention it! This event will be the first of its kind, and will be a one day event which will incorporate the likes of a Show and Shine/Custom Show, Trade Stands, Parts Fair, Clothes Stalls. Scooter Importers and Distributors with facilities to test ride the newest model scooters etc. etc. But what makes this different to a re...gular scooter event is a 500metre drag strip! In an attempt to promote UK Scooter Sprinting there will be demo runs from 100mphscooter.com riders, and classes for everyone that would like to have a go. For example ‘The UK’s Fastest TS1’ - ‘The UK’s Fastest Smallframe Vespa’ - ‘The UK’s Fastest Auto up to 100cc’ - ‘The UK’s Fastest Auto up to 200cc’ – ‘The UK’s Fastest Scooter Wheelie’ - 'The UK's Fastest Maxi' and so on. It will be the only event where you can test the performance of your scooter legally, knowing that the only ticket you will receive is a ticket with your Terminal Speed on it. Run those ‘Grudge Runs’ between mates or between clubs, or simply show your scooter is the fastest in its class, and take home a nice trophy stating you are the UK’s Fastest. If this year’s event is a success, there is a big chance that next year’s event could be a whole weekend held in mid summer. So we really need your support! Litrally round the corner from my house!!!! I'm there! You should see some of the stuff that goes down elvington airfield! Top venue! There's an air museum there too! The runway is one of the longest in Europe, and is an emergency landing strip for the space shuttle! (airforce base near by) it's where "the hampster" had his drag car accident and several world speed records have been broken. Sounds like a top day to me!!
