Basicly i have a sym jet 50cc, i have installed a 100cc sym jet engine , The engine starts fine and idles fine but when i rev it it does nothing i have checked the rev cabels ect i have tryed two different carbs on it and still the same, it revs up the tinys little bit but thats all it does, maybee i should get a 100cc sym jet cdi unit would that work? because iv read some were that you cant use a 50cc cdi unit on a 100cc engine would that be true, would appreciate help thanks , luke.
i doubt a cdi unit designed for a 50cc bike would work on a 100c bike personally i would replace it for a 100c cdi unit but 1st adjust the mixture screw etc on the carb and see if that helps
i did adjust the mixture screw and nothing happend i meen normally it either dies or revs more doesent it if ya mess with it but it did nothing , i know its not the carb tho because i have bought a new one and still does same ???
Your turning your mixture screws and nothing is happening? is that even possible you dont notice a change in engine sound/rpm
The Cdi Needs Changing as its all setup for 50cc's of power... And As for tuning the Carb and nothing happening your Carb is setup wrong your telling me you can turn both screws fully in and out and no change in rpm, Even if your cdi is Messed up it cant stop the amount of fuel Going through the carb when you turn the Idle Screw thats a mechanical Procedure not electrical so its carb related 100% imo
but i have changed the carb and bought a new one , erm one other thing i did witch i shouldent have , i cut stripped the ht lead down and joined another one could that be causing it
check your carb slide is closing properly and that your thorttle cable is adjusted properly..take the air filter off and see if the slide is resting on the idle screw a tenner says its not.
