Scooter Exhaust, Paint or Not ?

Just taken the exhaust system off the Honda Sky, it is in very good order, and is obviously not the original, painting the pipe with silver heat resisting paint....the thing is, do I paint the silencer itself ?.....I know there are for, and against, so looking for opinions......

 

Paint it.

 

Someone has suggested Solvol ? metal polish.....never heard of it......

 

I would not bother unless you want to do it every week.

 

I agree, drop of paint wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks for that, I was going to do it silver, then not at all, but have now decided to use VHT black.....luckily I already have a tin that I used on my other Sky.....I think VHT silver would clash with those silver wheels, I don't always conform with how things should be, but it would have been black when new......I might try and get a chrome "guard" for it, rather than that plastic thing...…..
