    Hi guys,

    Is a scooter alarm/immobiliser a good investment?

I've tried to ask this a few times with mixed answers, the most been "it will just drain your 12v battery"

I do have one of the alarm/immobiliser/remote start kit from a long time ago, was just looking for answers on what you guys would bother fitting one or not.

Of course it's a good idea!
Whoever says it's not is a muppet and deserves to have their bike nicked at the first opportunity.
I've had an alarm/immobiliser/remote start system on my bike for 7 years and it's never flattened the battery.
If it does flatten the battery overnight, then either the battery is on the way out anyway, or the charging system is shot.

I have a Datatool Demon alarm and have no problem's, you do have to have the scoot chained up as well just to be safe!

Thanks guys, I will go a head and fit mine I guess.

Is there any real difference between such alarms which are £30 and ones which are £100+?

As long as it makes a lot of noise in the dead of night, my Datatool was about £80.
