    How's everyone doing? My friends just started a courier company and he's looking for a couple of scooters, he asked me to help him so I thought this was the best place to get some honest opions on different models.

    He's looking for a 50cc and 2 capable of doing motorway work. None of them are going to be modifed, apart from de-restrictions, so were looking at;

    50cc
    Good mpg, reliable and cheap replacement parts. Top speed of at least 45. Good extra storage would be a bonus.

    For the other scooters I was looking at 125cc, but the majority claim a top speed of around 65mph. He's looking for something that does at least 70mph whilst still keeping good mpg. Reliability and cheap replacements are top of the list once again.

    I was looking at a speedfight for the 50cc, but I'm totally at a loss for the bigger ones. Any surgestions would be much appreciated.

    Cheers!

    well first of all 50cc's arnt allowed on the motorway, you need a 125 and a full licence, so ill start with that, oviously im going to say 4 stroke...runner vx 125. does about 70 mph and still has good mpg and with a decent top bo they have a good bit of storage... if you must get a 50cc then id say a 4 stroke 50cc zip, standard de restrcited, would do about 45, if tuning isnt a problem then thats a good choice...

    Yeah, he just needs the 50cc for local jobs.

    I was looking at the runner VX125, seemed like a good choice. What mpg do you get out of it roughly, and whats the storage like, thanks

    well i dont have a runner vx125 so cant comment on mpg but its a 4 stroke so shouldnt really be a problem, plus its a scooter so who gives a shit about mpg....its oinly gona be a fiver more a week than a bike with bad mpg...

    storage is good, underseat storage is quite large plus you can fit a massive top box on if you wished

    Yeah, he just needs the mpg numbers for his spreadsheets. Work out the running costs and all that. lol

    Storage does sound quite good. I'll have a look around see how much I can find some second hand. Seems to fit the profile. Just looked about and you can pick some up second hand for less than £600. Cheers
