have you done anything recently .... like pull the carby off?

assuming there is no mechanical damage... it can only be a lack of air, fuel or spark.

have you checked for fuel blockages?
im assuming you checked the spark by pulling the plug out and resting it against something metal?

no the carb has not been off but it has been stood for a while?
i check the fuel pipe to the carb and it seems clear.
yes i put the spark plug on a metal surface and it did spark
    cheers

When I bought my project runner it had been stood for a while. Just changed all the fluids in the bike and then fired it up. Took about 30 seconds though, yours could take longer.

thanks for that. ill defo give it a go
not sure how long its been stood for.
    but its worth ago.
is it better to kick it over or just electric start for 30 seconds or so

Might not be necessary to change the fluids but I did for piece of mind and it was cheap too, depends how long it has stood for.

Well mine was a four stroke so no kickstart. Managed on the electric start fine playing with the throttle, varying it and you will start to hear it wanting to fire. ;)

if the fuel been in over 3 months changee it, change the plug aswell i had the same the other day the spark looked fine but they act different under compression so get a new plug for a start and change the petrol :D

I drianed the fuel tank and put new fuel in and still nothing?
so i emptyed the carb fuel pipe and poured in new fuel
nearly started? so i believe the problem is the fuel tap.
it does not seem to be goin into the carb fuel pipe
    from the petrol tank.
    do fuel taps get blocked?
and when the petrol tank is full does fuel automaticly go straight to the carb through the tap

right, is the vac pipe on the fuel tap? if so take both pipes off the carb.. suck the black pipe vacumm pipe) and fuel should come out the clear pipe. if not the fuel tap is fucked. if this is fine get back on here and ill give you a couple other things to check.

just been down the garage and just tryed your advice
no fuel came out of the fuel pipe so the fuel tap must be fucked
so a new fuel tap is on its way to me in the post ( i did order one last week but they sent me an x9 fuel pump?)
    thanks for the advice

thas the one, change the fuel while your at it, put the fuel pipe on the carb then suck the black pipe for 5 seconds or so... will fill the carb with fuel and prep it to start, replace the black pipe and it should start first kick

just fitted the new fuel tap
and sucked on the black pipe and saw the fuel in the fuel pipe moving
into the carb which was good news.
so i tryed starting it nothing? it would not fire up? :w00t:
do you think it is the starter motor
are they like cars starter motors if you whack them with a hammer they start ha ha

    try whacking it lol.

    not tried kicking it?

try the fuel in the barrel like i said, it should fire up and might get the fuel sucking through again
