    Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if sand blasting the faces of the vario and pulley would help at all with torque and belt slip?

Most of you with O/R trannys or aftermarket trannys will notice that the front vario faces are almost mirror smooth, yet the rear pulley have more of a dull finish, slightly blasted look. It seems to me that time riding would only polish those surfaces even more, making them ridiculously smooth and ultimately leading up to belt slip and poor torque.

So it would only make sense that if you lightly sand blasted the faces of all the varios, that it would give you just enough extra grip to help avoid any type of belt slip, and possibly increase your torque as well.

    What are your thoughts?

Also, what torque spring is heavier than the red?
    Thanks,

    Chris

I find the plating tends to wear off in patches on after market variators.

ive got a malossi multivar on my speed fight...

and a polini speed control on my Runner...

on both variators the plating has worn off at the bottom of the range,
where torque is highest on start off etc :D

but it hasnt appeared to affect the operation of the variators to be honest!!
