Speed cameras, are'nt they just putting the problem localised to an area, selfishly onto someone else.?.,
case in point/do-gooder campaigners who normally could'nt give a toss about others.till it affects them.
Average speed checks..isn't that causing an element of danger for motorists,as you only need to get some wag caning the n.ts off his vehicle and deciding to coast sub speed limit taking into account times/speed.
Graduated lines at traffic lights, totally brainless idea in my opinion...how many people are going to be tempted to speed up at lights to clear this, most of these of which i've seen a few of in town centres.
These are just a small example of the so called safer roads agenda, especially in regards to local councils, but in reality in most cases are a direct tie in to revenue generation from easy targets such as motorists 2/4,etc.

Thing is, As long as you ride/drive to the standard you should be, sticking to speed limits etc etc then you should be fine. Start wearing a helmet camera every ride and should you ever get fined and you know you were in the right/a speed limit wasn't posted then you can prove it and get off.
Ride to a standard you should be and youll be amazed how easy it is to stay out of trouble.
Before the thing of the cameras + anyone getting personal info on you via your number plate, thousands of people see your plate everyday, thousands of cameras see your plate everyday, if they want your details they'll have them. I could find out almost everything about you by running your number plate now if I put enough effort in, everything down to your mothers name, your date of birth and your national insurance number if I REALLY wanted it. but nobody really bothers.

Ive found the average speed cameras are actually quite good at slowing the Knobs down on roads where they shouldn't be speeding, I know ill be hated for it but on main roads/residential streets im all for speed cameras, average speed cameras, ANPR etc etc... out in the country not so but inner city the more the better I think.

Ride to the standard, part of the problem/methinks,i generally ride at a level I feel competant with, which to me is acceptable obviously as I'm still here.
Given my background and upbringing being around such stringent authority all the time, has made me alittle aware of how overeactive and authoritive the powers that be/can be.
Being largely concerned with an individual being able to excercise free will,am well aware of how alot of measures nowadays, are a stepping stone to even more restrictive practices in the future.

    I do.
Catches the knobs that are speading down the road that my partner could be crossing with my son in his pram.
They make a huge difference. don't want to get caught by them? don't speed.
