Is it safe to re-use front/rear wheel nuts say after replacing tyres/tubes + pads - noticeably using/loctite thread locking compound on rear OR is it always better to replace as a matter of course?, Asking as have replacements/but they look noticeably different from the original fitted (part.rear) to make us a wee bit nervous.mk. .
As long as they are torqued up to the correct setting, then rechecked after the first journey, then you should be fine. The only issues arise from using alloy nuts/bolts on non-alloy wheels, as that can end badly.
Car alloy wheels don't have anything like split pins securing the bolts, so scooter alloys should be no different.
You could always drill a hole for a split pin yourself......................NOT. Order a couple of new self locking ones if that makes you feel safer. And a drop of locking compound for good measure.
If paranoia still rages in your head, you could lock-wire the bolt heads, like the racing bikes do. It would make life harder to remove the wheel if you had a puncture though.
That's a thought, Only used for local so's prob. end up pushing back....., Dump in yard/let the berserker rage wear off..... .
