I have a 2008 Aerox with a S6 Pro rep (with restrictior in pipe). Is this pipe more for a 70cc, casue I cant get the thing to work.

I have a motorforce clutch, 4.8g rollers in std variator. The bike won't go over 20Mph... and is very very slow. It revs initially with the clucth coming in late.. but then dead after that.

Any idea's... do I need to go lighter on the rollers???

Tried 4 gram rollers.. still gutless... tried 3.5g rollers in a performance varitor...it revs, but still no power band!!! I know the pedparts blog says they work but I am really struggling with this S6 pipe

Ok I had another S6 pro rep pipe without the restrictor and tried it with a total of 16g in the performance variator... and it was alot better... but really the weights need to be lighter for it to have a constant pick up... still gets a dead spot around 40khp and then picks up again to 80kph... but a total of 16g is like 2.6g rollers each... that is ridiculous... considering I need to go lighter again!!!

The restrictor was definitely the problem.

Rollers should be more like 4.5g, is the outer pulley gripping the belt too tight?

If it has a new belt it will take 100-150 miles to bed in , before that it will really drag as it is still tight.

Ok so its going alot better with 3.5g weights.... Changed the standard 62 jet to a 73 jet.

I went on a long ride but if you hold it anymore for 5 seconds flat out, the temp light comes on. So I did a plug chop, and it looks like its running a bit lean... I would have thought a 73 jet would have been plenty!!!??

The bike only has 800klms on the clock.. like brand new, plenty of water etc

for all aeroxes after '03 (with auto choke and gurtner carb) increasing from 62 to 68 gurtner jet will always be virtually spot on with an aerox and a sports pipe (with a standard 50cc kit) provided you still have the standard air filter fitted and the snorkle bit is still in it and it doesn't have any leaks (no screws missing etc.)

if the jetting is too lean it won't cause the temp light to come on, lean jetting can of course cause the piston to overheat or seize but it's very unlikely to overheat the coolant, worst case scenario the bike would just seize without the coolant light coming on, but you really won't be able to tell anything useful from the spark plug colour about the jetting unfortunately

if the temp light is starting to come on it will most probably be one of the following...
*) water level low -has it lost or is losing any water?
*) air in cylinder jacket- undo rad cap and remove one of the tiny pipes coming from the top of the cylinder head to make sure only water comes out and bleed out any air that might be in there
*) waterpump not working properly- after doing the above start the engine at fast idle for 5 mins or take for a short ride and make sure the radiator is getting hot (probably too hot to hold)- if not check both the waterpump itself and also that the thermostat in the cylinder head is working properly (temporarily remove it for a few days if you're not sure)
    *) temp sensor faulty
