I have recently bought a ludix snake as a non runner. I cleaned the carb and replaced the spark and battery. It's starting great but to move you have to rev quite hard then it wants to shoot off. I have adjusted the idle but any lower might not keep it ticking over when stood. Also when I ride it I had a few put puts from the exhaust with blue smoke. I'm not sure if it's backfiring so I'll call it that. Please could someone help?
If the engine is running fine then it could be the drive train , Check the variator weights. first and then have look at the clutch. If it's been laid up for a while it could be something simple. I wouldn't worry too much abot a puff of blue smoke it shows that the oil is being delivered to the engine and it's just burning it as it should.
