Hi all, i'm after some help.
I have a Yamaha Cygnus which I haven't use for over 2 years. I ve started to try get it back on the road, brought a new battery as old one was dead and wouldn't hold a charge.
I manged to get the bike to fire up using kick-start and also on the button. The issue is that it runs for about 10-20 seconds the dies. The only way to keep it going is to give a little throttle but as soon as i let go the engine dies.

    Any Ideas appreciated

Is it the carb model? If so carb will need a clean and fresh fuel running through the system. Old fuel will be rubbish by now.
Also worth changing the plug if you havent already and giving it a oil change as after two years, The oil wont perform as it should anymore.

Its fairly simple. Plenty of videos and tutorials online on how to do it.
First time doing a carb clean is always nerve racking but take it slow, lay out the pieces neatly on a piece of kitchen roll and dont mess with the idle/mixture screws on your first go.

Cleaning out fuel system like Scootz said is a bestie,tank/carb.etc,might want to get some new pipes & clips as well.after 2 years might be degraded/mainly split ends.
