    Hey Guys,

I just put some new rings in my ET2 (Polini 70 iron kit). I honed the bore etc. Just wondering how many kms i should do before its run in.
Ive done about 260 so far, but its so painful to go slow.....

    oh 260km = 160mi

probably safe by now mate, you're only wearing the rings in now, rather then wearing any dodgy port edges etc, so start using full throttle, just dont bang it to full for ages

cool....i might cruise it for the rest of the week.... that will get me to the 300-350km mark (185-220mi)....

then i will start opening it up a bit....

i did give it a good hone... so the bore was pretty rough.

before i honed it it was shiny as...... and the rings had about 0.2mm wear compared to the new ones.

ahh right, if it was a slightly deeper hone then give it 300-350, i didnt realise it was a proper hone, most people just do it for the sake of it haha

yeah proper hone... have it about 15-20 seconds worth of hone....

    i had to...the bore was like a mirror :p

ok.... ive done 400km (about 250mi)....
now im starting to open it up a bit....

    it feels good....

although there is a bit if a high pitch vibrating/squeal noise when i take off first thing in the morning.... it only lasts a second or 2, and doesnt seem to be speed dependent.

any ideas on what that might be....?

    ahhh cool... that makes sense....

it only happens when its stone cold....
i cruise around for a few minutes to get it warm, then the first time i give it a bit of stick it makes the noise for a few seconds.....

after this ... it never does it again.

    thanks guys :)
