Hi just needed some help my mate has purchased an MHR-Rep Kit for his SR and I just need to get him some advice about running it in, i'm pretty sure someone said it doesn't take long to run in an MHR Kit because its an ally kit but just need someone to confirm this and give a basic running in guide. Cheeeeeers  (P.S I did use the search feature and all I got was piaggiozipkids 10 pager thread that was nothing to do with an MHR Kit in the end)
is it an aluminium kit? sorry i dont know if it is or not :emb: but if it is. then run in time is reduced by far something silly like 30 minutes on idle will run it in,
ive said it befor but ill say it again.. get it setup idle mix wise then leave it to idle till it warms up turn off and let it go fully cold.. idle for 5 mins to warm up then take it for a gental ride (around 5-10mph) let it cool warm it up an take it for a softish ride for 10 mins or so then let it cool down warm it up an rag it for 5 mins.. then let it cool should be run in.. just dont run it full throttle excessivly for 50ish miles.. remember to run loads of shit oil in the petrol.. has to be shit oil or it wont bed in..
depends how much your mate cares about his bike, if he cares about it then i would say 200 miles gently and give it some every now and again and it should be cool you want it to last for aslong as possible not kill it
so i dont care about my bike? or want the barrels i spend money on to go bang? m8, i rarely even run tghings in and they dont just go bang.. if built right you can rag it from fresh once warm (think you run in befor dyno setup?) its a race kit.. race engines are started for the secondor third time and ragged for over an hour.. these engines can last 12 races. it wont go bang if you build it right.. its the good thing about plated barrels
Thanks for the help minor he had it fitted today and it flyyyyys. I'm jelous :rtfm: I neeeeeeeeed moneeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!
