Running fine till Wide open throttle

    Okay, my aerox is running nicely, idles nicely all good until i go Wide open throttle. soon as i go wide open and i hit about 50 it starts to strain then nearly cut out until i slow down, is this a problem with the jet being too small? the main jet is a 45? is this small, and should i upjet? it has a polini 70cc Kit and a LeoVince ZX chrome exhaust, its alright as it is, but id like to be able to go Wide open. thanks for reading

    45?!?! You sure you're looking at the right jet? If it's 45 you need to order some box's of jets and not ride it again till you change it.

    yeah i think its a 45, its out of a stock carb, and why shouldnt i ride it again till i change it?

    Because you'll be needing a new cylinder and possibly new crank when the thing seizes up.
    I reckon you're looking at the idle jet tbh. either way, it needs a bigger jet, ride at your own risk if you do so before getting it sorted. :)

    Okay thanks, will i need to change all of the jets in the carb or just the main jet?

    if it only happends at full throttle then that will be main jet that needs changing.
    if you have standard size main jet then you will be running lean at full throttle and will be a expensive rebuild if you carry on using bike.

    Okay thanks nick, i wont blow up the piston or anything if i run it at low speeds when its fine will i?

    i couldnt really say, i know i would leave it till everything was just right.

    we had a similar thing with the zip SP. It felt like electrical cutting out. Turned out to be weak at the top end. Misture screw adjusted sorted the prob. not sure what size jet its running tho' coz its been drilled out

    thats the same problem i have, but mine runs perfectly up to half throttle then it runs like shit and just dies until i slow down again, ill just have to wait until my 102 jet arrives

    This too was perfect til full throttle, then it'd start "missing"

    Okay thanks stig, youve been in the same boat, changing the mixture to make it run richer with a jet through is simply impossible because you can only let a certain amount of fuel through a certain size hole, so if i put a size 102 jet in, i can then alter the mixture if its too big, do you think a 102 would be about right for a 70cc aerox with a leo vince ZX chrome exhaust?

    i never understand why people order just the one jet.

    order a box of jets, that way you dont need to guess at what will be good, you can find out for definate.
