Wondered if anyone can help me out, trying to get the fuel/temp gauges to work, there doesn’t seem to be plugs for these anywhere, I’ve got the two main plugs from the harness that plug into the panel and there are only small hex nuts locations where I would assume you could bolt wires to, trouble is, I have no idea what to bolt where as theres around 5 of these hex nuts? I’ve posted a pic of what it looks like, appreciate any help, just to note, when I bought the bike, it was a non runner, it runs now, pretty much rebuilt everything but now I’m onto the cluster and I’ve only just noticed that is doesn’t have a Rev counter! I never really noticed whilst stripping it. https://ibb.co/gPkYhYJ I’ve also bought another better quality harness as the original (pictured) was in bad shape, you’ll see there’s a green wire wrapped around one of the hex nuts, that was the old harness loom and does exist on the new harness I bought.. any ideas please let me know, or if anyone has one of these bikes please take a pic of the wiring if you can, tia!
Is the printed circuit board on back of speedo ? there's only plugs that fit, no wires are bolted on, well there is on petrol gauge but not that you need to touch, Also the runner has never had it or need a rev counter.
Hey @MARSH thanks for your reply, I don’t quite understand, yeah there’s a printed flexible circuit board on the back of the cluster (see pic) with two plugs from the loom that fit straight into the plugs on the cluster. before I took it apart, there was one single wire which was sort of squashed and screwed into one of the tiny hex bolts on the back of the cluster (as seen in the image) so I assumed that the petrol gauge and temp gauge had to be screwed onto them somewhere too.. So is the temp gauge signal sent through one of those two main plugs then? And only the petrol gauge is bolted onto the circuit directly? Would you be able to upload a pic of how it should be please? my last runner I had was the new shape, with the digital dash, that read the revs on a dial and the speed was on the digital side so I just assumed it would have a Rev counter (I’ve never owned the old model/shape before)
