ite scooter heads im getting a new runner in a couple of weeks and was wondering the following; what milage would i have to cover to get it derestricted? should i take off the white and black stickers as its the black model or leave them on? do you recommend me getting one of these? cheers lads
To be fair, we sell them, but im not a fan.... i would get a new shape SR50 instead. But if you like the looks of it then thats all that matters, pretty much the same running gear and electrics in all the piaggio group machines. For warranty purposes, it cant be derestricted until 1000km... but if you dont care about warranty it can be done from new but just remember to still run the engine in for a while.
i personaly wouldent go for 1. my mate has 1 and there so hard to dissmantle for tuning ! there realy bulky and heavy aswell go for the old shape or if too late get it sell it and get a diff scoot, honnestly gilera have killed the look and style of the runner
its all personal preference to be honest its what you want if you like it go for it if you dont like stickers take em off afterall you are the one riding it :good:
nope but you can get the odd small part for them in carbon fibre or sunthing. and mirorrs stuff like that
hopefully they make evo panels for them soon as they would look sweet as can i get the dealer i get my ped from to derestrict it? if so how much?
do it yourself, its easy enough we will help you do it but it depends on the dealer most dealers i know do de-res it
how would i go about of making my own panels and painting them? are there any sites which do them templates to see what colours go well and stuff?
hang on, your buying a NEW bike and already planning on taking the stickers off, painting it, modding it? why not just buy an old bike? or maybe buy a new one an leave it alone.. anyone wonder why no stock scoots are about? this is the reason
agreed the look shit if you just gunana take stickers of glue sum bits on on trust me my mate mummy and daddy bought him a brand new runner last year and he fucked that bike up all the stickers off stupid bodge paint job and it looked shit he sold it not long ago for 700! lost over a grand on what should have been alot more for the money
cheers for the advice, i think im gna keep the looks standard...would an exhaust make my bike faster if so which one [im thinking a lazer]
You're effectively derestricting it with a pipe so pointless, and the performance gain is poor for the reduced engine life and fuel economy stick to what you got.......or if you are yet to have it get a Piaggio zip rs or Gilera Stalker Naked
yes a sports exhaust iwould add speed and acceleration, but dont go for the lazer. i bought a lazer for my gilera 50 and it was ok top end but stupid take off the lazer is meant to go with a 70cc kit mainly, thats why i sold mine to a guy with the perfect set up for it. id go for a leo vince exhaust everyone who owns 1 is realy pleased with them but dont rush into things yet. get a bike, and then we will start talking
WAS the perfect setup haha I'd leave it dude the cons far outweigh the pros unless you can get a 2nd hand bike which is better, get it from a dealer make sure the bolts and fastners are all good and maintainence shouldn't be a problem
i wouldent touch any new bikes/ new models go for the old... Runner Nrg Typhoon Aerox and theres some others but there the main scooters which are above the rest AND 1 MORE THING ! dont get a 50cc 4 stroke scooter or a chinese scoot :beg: or youl be like this >>> :amen:
lool erm the new shape gilly has been orderd waiting for it to be deliverd as its being shipped from italy ive got quite abit of money but gna do things slowly step by step ive got like a rough idea on what im gna do to it over a period of time the parts im thinkin; firstly a de-restriction then.... malossi mhr 70 kit malossi second gear up kit malossi 21mm carb polini sports variator polini race belt and finally to top it off would be an exhaust [not sure on which one though]
if you go for an mhr kit, you have to have a stronger crank, but if you went for say a polini sport 70cc kit, the crankk will cope with the power output fine start small and simple the proceed to bigger and better set ups
