Here we go again boys and girls, another one thats thrown up a googlie; got a runner 50sp injection in, oil pump belt went with the obvious conclusions.# So new piston and barrel, oil pump belt, oil pump drive gear, I didn't take the injection system off the head because i didn't have to, just unplugged the two fuel lines, unplugged the injector, temp sender and compressor hose. Measured the base gasket that was on it and replaced with the same size. Replaced the two cylinder head rubber gaskets. New spark plug as well. Put it all back together and its got what seems like a misfire, at just short of half throttle, and its blackening the plug very quickly indeed. I know the fuel system is supposed to be self bleeding on these isn't it? Checked for air leaks, cant find any, sprayed the wd40 all over, no joy. Any ideas please?
yes, turned it on and off so you can hear the pump priming, did this 10 times initially just to push any air out the system. Just been browsing around and reading that loads of people have problems with the plug sooting up really quickly, like within 5 minutes, exactly what is happening here. Going to buy some CR7E plugs tomorrow and see what happens. When i disconnect the air compressor hose from the head i get a nice pressure release noise, so i'm pretty sure its working properly. A bit expensive to buy one just for testing and to rule it out as a problem. Also need to buy an adapter for my compression tester to fit the plug hole, my friggin neighbours gone and lost mine. I hate these jobs, straight forward to start with, then they throw up something stupid. Might whip the injector out and give it another clean, just in case.
