runner 4t scorpion help

hi there just a quick question for my mate and his 4 stroke runner

he has fitted a scorpion and he has lost abit of mid range grunt

he spoke with the scooter shop and they are saying there is nothing he can do unless he buys a variator/clutch kit for around £130??

i dont much about 4t so any help would be most appreciated

these four stroke pipes make little difference, in some cases, rob power over the stock exhaust. Do a search for scorpion, and you will see the comments.

An after-market variator is going to hold the gearing in the power band/peak power rpm, better than the stock one, but at a cost.

If his pull-away is okay, a clutch kit is going to do nothing for the mid-range.

the shop needs also to be more specific, what he is getting for his money.

to be honest, tuning four strokes, is an expensive business, for what you get in return.

 

i've got the same exhaust on my dna it made mine slower by 3 to 5 mph top end mid range id say mine is quicker tho but i only got it as it was cheaper than a standard mild steel exhaust £198 for scorpion vs £318 for standard lol piss take or what?
im not trying to make mine faster as has been said tuning a 4 stroke is expensive, i just want mine to run properly.

On my runner I have an exhaust u can see it in the picture does anyone noe wat it is lol , was on the bike when I brought it , got a malossi Kevlar belt , change the oil new tyre bike is a fucking beast 75 mph clock speed pulls like a mother f'*****ckrr aswell lol

i have a leo vince exhaust on my runner and it feel great when riding but i have a polini 9 roller variator cost me £105 i think about a year ago

 

i went into my local scooter tuning place yesterday while i was there we got to talking about my scoot, they actualy stopped selling scorpion exhausts because they were sick of the complaints, aparantly scorpion pipes have too large a bore and dont have enough back pressure so rob the bike of power at high revs.

he told me leo vince 4 road are the best all round exhausts but on a 4 stroke putting an exhaust on usualy affects eather top speed or accelaration.
i've put some lighter rollers in to make up for the loss of accelaration and i was told to richen the mixture a little.

cant say im happy with my 63mph top speed but i dont often use it on roads that need that sort of speed so it will do.

 

with my polini 9 roller variator ive got in 9' 5 grams rollers and it seems to work ( but now ive just got a new polini 2g clutch ) so ive gotta fiddle with it a little to get it working better before i got my new clutch i was hitting 85 mph when my clutch is tuned more i hope i get abit more (maybe)
i gotta say my leo viunce sounds pucker too also i get the flame popping from it too
