got a runner 172 and it ticks over first kick ...but touch the throttle the slightest and it pops and cuts out ...will start up first time again but i have to let it warm up for around 10 mins then put choke ON ..if i try rev it without choke it will just pop and cut out ....after it warms up it will only hit around 30mph tops ....so i fort it was just the set up ie jets & air so put it into a workshop for setup and they rang me up saying its not the set up causing this ....i told him to check compression and he said that was fine ...could it be a crank seal and he aslo said the reeds were worn ...but how can i check for a broken seal without splittin the cases or an air leak and would worn reeds coarse this also what reeds should i buy and will stage 6 reeds from a 70cc fit dont have any experience with 172 scooters thanks in advance
I fort it wa just jettin so a give it to them to put it on dyno but they said there is anuva problem and not jets but will get it later today
How c How can I check Cdi garage said there was a good spark so dno if they did it wit a meter or not and how can I check for an air leak
Just make sure your reed block, and inlet are tight and sealed properly and check for cracks or holes in manifold also check to make sure the vacuum at the side of the reedblock is sealed properly. also how have they managed to run it on a dyno if you said it cuts out when you rev it with choke off or only does 30 with choke on
