Bike hasn't been started for 6 months, lights have been stored inside (bike outside but waterproof covered)

Without front lights attached all lights and indicators on the bike works fine, as soon as I plug in the front lights the indicators stop working and the front lights do not work at all.

Any ideas what is causing this or what I can do to fix this?

Check the wiring configuration for the headlight connector. If they all work fine without the headlights plugged in, then the issue is with the wiring for the headlights.
Use a mulitmeter on the looms connector block, put the light switch on side lights only, see which wire comes live with the switch in that position. Same with the switch in the headlight position. Then match up each live wire with the correct one for the headlight assembly. Make sure the earth wire is going to earth and not to a live anywhere, causing the short. If necessary, disconnect the earth from the headlight block and re-route to another location on the frame.
