    finished bitching people.

the only differences between bikes and scooters are the transmission.

right by dash lights i assume you mean oil/petrol/main beam etc...

i'm not sure how but most bikes have a tester that brings the bulbs on for a short time when the ignition is turned on. assuming you electric start works ok i would suspect the bulbs have gone or there is an earth problem. If it's the bulbs, its most likely caused by a blown regulator unit.

    exactly ^^

the dvla still class them as a geared moped because the bike uses a 50cc engine, scooters are usually anything above 50cc

and as wobbly said, bikes are bikes they are all pretty technical to an extent sr50 or an rs50, your best bet is to check all the dash light bulbs and check the fuses near the battery, try a multimeter if all else fails, could tell you if theres something wrong with the actual wiring itself which could lead you on to other possible sources of the problem
