i read MiNoR CoNfUsIoNs guide on roller weights....but from reading it, it appears it isn't a definate thing that it will make a scooter either faster/better accelerating. i have a gilera runner 125 vx now 2002, and i was wondering is there anypoint in wasting a tenner on new weights that potentially might not work. if so, is there much difference between mallossi or polini for weights apart from the £1 difference? What weight should i purchase too? for a possible increase in maximum speed? Thanks very much....any answers very appriciated. ~Zenny
I buy them for tuning, different variators bigger carb 172 kit etc they wont run rite with normal rollers so people buy them for pull off, mid range, top end depending on the rider
right ok cheers. mine is completely standard i believe...is there any performance parts you would recomend. not a sports exhaust tho...i dont want to spend 200 on a scorpian exhaust lol ~Zenny
if you dont wana spend money lol , not worth tuning mate do ya scoot a nice service, new plug, filter change, new oil, belt, petrol
mate...im new to this scooter stuff... your on about a spark plug? filter change? as in air filter? i thought u needed to rejet to get the best out of those. you been a great help btw mate ~Zenny
buy a second hand pipe? like ryam said, just service it and treat it will if your not gonna be a spender on parts
Get a 200cc leader engine from a runner VXR200 and just swap engines. Then go for a exhaust, you have to spend money to tune a bike. Fitted different weight rollers will have no effect on your top speed with a standard engine. You can achive quicker pull off and lose a bit of top speed if you lighten the rollers, but putting heavyier ones in will make it slow and still have same top speed, maybe less.
You have no idea what you're doing and have heard that rollers will affect it. Nope. A totally stock scooter will need no adjustments made, in fact yeah change the rollers for some more of the same weight as stock as they'll possibly be worn, a new drive belt too, filter, check the clutch is okay too, oil, transmission oil, valve clearences, etc etc etc basically what ryan said service it may give it a bit of extra go, but a 4 stroke don't tune without serious cost so i'd tidy it up and sell it to fund a 2 stroke if you wanna tune or keep it and pester aerox riders with technigas pipes
Cheers dudes... i dont understand all this 200 cc stuff cuz...im 17...wont i get absolutley cained in a massive crash?
basically what hes tryin to say is put a 200cc engine in andleave it regged as a 125 if you wanna do anything like that mite awell just buy a 210 topend or just ride it for what it is a nice standard run about
