right on my rox i want to experiment with my rollers but i cant get the fucking variator off no matter how many times a try i can lock it up or anything. bear in mind i dont have an impact driver right now or a torque wrench etc but ive got every other tool under the sun like spanners socket sets and that whats the best home made way to get the cunt out without going to a garage any decent responce will be highly appreciated many thanks ddddddddddarren.
Seen a few options but the best "bodge" for variator removal if you haven't got a certain tool etc is to fabricate a toothed alloy plate in which a semi-circle has been cut into and bolt holes made. This then can slot into the fan fins on the outer pulley and be bolted in place against the engine case. I'd just order a locking tool from the usual online places if I were you as it'll work instantly.
