Revs full on idle and dies when throttle twisted

Hi all,

Just recently bought a dellorto 21mm carb for the speedfight and it revs full on idle and when I touch the throttle it bogs.

Any ideas what the problem is? I know it's something simple, just can't seem to work it out :/

 

have you tired running it with the throtle cable unplugged incase its snagged and holding it open?
as for the bogging, it sounds like mixture issues. Could be a case of a major air leak letting in too much air, cheack all the pipes and clamps are tight

 

The throttle slide is at the bottom.

There is a vacuum inlet on it that I haven't blocked. Could that be a problem and if it is, how do I block it?

 

yes that would cause a problem if it is a vaccum feed

you just put a 2 inch length of hose on it and then get a bolt a screw it in easy peasy

 

as above, thats one big old air leak you have, pipe and a bolt will solve it, id persoanlly use a little selant on the bolt just to be 100% sure of no leaks as it will throw the jetting off
