Hi not sure if i still know anyone on here, or if anyone remembers me i have seen a few names i remember from when i used to own my runner and 172 typh such as minor confusion and terro. Well im just on the verge of purchasing an aerox 50 so thought i'd get back in touch on the forum, unfortunately i have noticed aerox's tend to attract "stupid chavs" so just want to clear my name from that lol, anyway nice to see everyones so enthusiastic about scooters and wondered if theres anything i should look out for on the rox seen as i have only ever worked on piaggio engines cheers Will

only after something to tinker with to be honest mate, dont wanna spend too much on buying one so that i can just have it as a hobby e.g. buy a cheap ped maybe non runner fix it then have more to spend on tuning etc just a little summer toy really but i love the look of the aerox to be quite honest mate !!

I'm with you Will, i'm 17 soonish and tempted to get a typh 172, but i just want a nice aerox 50 to tinker with. Something that does 65-70 and gets their QUICK. IMO Aerox is the most aggressive, sporty looking scoot and has such a comfortable ride.

Good luck with it, what setup you planning for when you buy the rox?

Cheers mate, yea they are definitely good looking bikes, probably got the best looking wheels out of all the peds available too ! not really got too much planned for it at the moment as my first plan will be getting it running again and to a good starting condition, im 19 and have a car as well so i dnt need it on the road constantly so i can take my time n tune it properly, but plans as far are
    - Strip it down and completely clean it ( good overhall )
    - Respray panels black and green i think monster energy style ( currently purple n green but badly scratched)
    - Then rather than buying each part and fitting it as i get them, ill do a list of the bits i need starting with cylinder and crank all the way to transmission and once i have bought all the parts over a certain amount of time ill be fitting them all together. so i can have sparkling clean nice new engine rather than having a odd bits here and there and changing set up everytime i get a new part.

What have you done so far to your aerox or what are your plans mate ?

quick update, had some news this evening the lad i was supposed to buying the rox off has turned down my offer of £300 he said he wanted £400 when it was running, but it has had a hot seizure due to never putting water in it, it needs new cylinder and piston, new front pully, new clutch, new belt and thats just the bits i know about, the body work is need of a respray and its 9 years old is it just me or was my offer not doing him a favour ?

Anyway im gutted about not being able to get it, mainly because of how local it is, but its really given me the bug so im now looking for something, i would like an aerox but would also like another runner 125/172 maybe... just so gutted bout my offer being rejected !

yeah i know what you mean mate its just with local bikes you get the benefit of going to look at them before you buy them if you get me, i'd be happy with anything to be fair just miss the scooter scene

being patient doesent cost much, loosing your patience ends up expensive..take your time and find the right bike cheap.... fuckinell you have a car. ive stripped bikes infront of people and put them in tiny cars....

my typh in a megane COUPE for one...

did this a few times wiht various typhoon's probably bigger than a rox once its in bits. rox's are fuckin tiny built afterall...) if you have a hatchback you have no reason to worry about where it is.. fact is if you dont mind doing work to it you can see what you need to see/ask what you need to know befor seing it (pictures tell you most of the story) your after a project not a bike. 3 bills will buy you somthing running, maybe wiht some tax and mot on it still...

yeah i know what your saying mate, i cant really put much in my car tbh its up for sale and just been valeted so dnt really wanna be cramming a ped into it, like ya say im just going to be patient and wait for a while im quite interested in getting a runner 125 as i have had a runner 50 and a typh 172 so just want the bit inbetween now. my project will be to get a right balance of something thats reliable and enjoyable, however once i start tuning its hard to stop yourself from going more into a mid race set up.

yea i just love the black and green colours. well looks will be last on my list engine comes first really so see what happens, budget is around 300 for buying a bike but tuning budget could be almost endless as i am not rushing it ill be taking my time and will be saving for each part etc, so when ever the money is there the parts will be ordered etc...

if thats the case build somthing worthwhile.. bigger engine really. more bang for your buck and its more likely to be used. so another typh or a runner... or buy terro's sr for 3 bills :)

yea i looked at the sr however i live in nottingham and he's in london so its like another 50 quid just to collect it mate. might stretch the budget slightly for buying one depending on condition and distance etc for example if it costs me 50 quid extra to go somewhere to collect one i might as well spend the extra 50 on something local if you get me mate.
