for your engine you will need high temperature paint , which only comes in certain colours i think...

and panel paint, can use anything from poundland black/white to expensive shit, just depends on how you prep really, make sure the panel is nice and smooth before applying any paint layers :)

you cant go on how many coats you will need, it can be from 2 coated to 6 coated for example all depends on how you put the paint on and if it goes on perfect or patchy just do it until you cover all areas and no drips ect

If the panels are sanded down to the plastic then you will need plastic primer before anything goes on. Its ok to just plastic-prime certain spots if you have only sanded right through to the plastic in small places, rather than all over.

Use some high-build filler primer for the first 2 coats, then normal primer (after the filler primer has been flatted).

Make sure you flat the primer off before applying the paint ;)

Use 800 wet/dry sandpaper for flatting, but dont wet it. (primer is pourous and will soak up moisture, making it an absolute nightmare to apply the paint).

As for paint, go to halfords. I usually wouldnt reccomend halfords, but they have a HUGE selection of car paint in decent sized cans. If you see a car in a colour that you like, google it and find out the name of the colour. Halfords will have it.

After 3 coats of colour, leave it to harden for a few days. Then, flat it back with 1200 grit wet/dry paper (with water this time). Leave it to dry for at least a few hours (you can get the worst of the water off with a soft towel and maybe gentle hair-dryer use). The paint will be dull after this process but dont worry.

You now need to apply some clear laquer, you can also get his at halfords. Do some nice even coats, and you will end up with a really great, shiny paint finish that wont chip or fade.

Just rember to shake the cans for 5 minutes before use, keep a distance of 30cm at all times when spraying, and most importantly... If you get a run or a reaction in the paint, just leave it to dry and then sand it back. Dont attempt to fix any mistakes by piling on loads of paint or wiping it or anything. It will only cause a big mess.

    Hope it goes alright ;)

    No problem man :)

Couple more things; Dont spray in the cold, and try and spary in a controlled environment (ie. In shed/garage that has been swept out and cleaned)
