    Hello i have a piaggio typhoon with a nrg engine so that back wheel is a nrg rear wheel anyways;
    the bearings have gone, the wheel wobbles when done up.
    Question at hand:
    How do i replace these bearing and where can i buy the replacement bearings?
    ive never done bearings on a rear wheel so i need to know if its a engine drop or a simple take wheel off and there it is?
    Thanks!

    depends if its the bearing in the wheel itself or the ones that transfer the load of the axle through the casings.
    If you have the bearing sizes theres plenty of online or sometimes local suppliers (check yellow pages) that will supply quality bearings at a fraction of the cost of OEM

    Typhoons have the bearings inside the gearbox.
    To get to the bearings, you need to remove the variator cover, clutch and rear pulley's, rear wheel and most likely exhaust, as the wheel wont fit off otherwise.
    After that, look under the back of the engine block, there should be a bolt. Undo it and the gearbox oil will pour out.
    This is the old type piaggio hyper engine.

    After that remove the hex bolts that hold the gearbox cover on. [IMG]

    After undoing the hex bolt, tap on the rear wheel axle. While doing that, the gearbox cover will start coming loose.

    Engine block from inside(dont lose the washers!)

    After removing the cover and the gears inside(dont forget where the washers go on the middle
    gears), replace the bearings and oil seals with new ones, fit the washers back on, use sealant on the gearbox cover, place it back on and bolt it tight. After that replace the oil drain bolt and pour in new gear oil.
