My current project is powered by an older version of the minarelli air cooled horizontal 50cc engine, similar to what you find on the jog-r and the neos, the main difference being the length of the crank case. (not been able to get my hands on a real one yet, its just what I can tell from pics etc). My older engine can only accomodate up to a 10" wheel and I would lke to fit larger wheels on, and while i'm at it get a more up to date engine.

How the hell can I find out if I can fit one of the newer engines onto my frame? I have seen it done but being new to all this I wouldnt have a clue how to even start modding the frame to fit the engine if thats what needs done. Whats the chances of it fitting right on there?

will bolt streight in, will need a shock raiser i think and will alter your steering angle slightly.

Luckily I have a shock raiser already as I bought one not knowing there was a difference between the 2 engines lol

How do you mean it will alter the steering angle? I have a new front end to go on the scoot too, using aerox forks.

Obviously I am going to need all the coresponding electrical gubbins to go with the engine. Im not bothered about a starter motor, i'd rather just do it of the kick anyway.

I dont suppose anyone would care to list for me the parts I would need so I can price up the whole job and figure out if its going to be cheaper to just buy a newer model jog?

90% sure the electrics are the same and the mounts are in the same place, the steering rate will be slower as youre lengthening the wheelbase.

ah cool. The thing will be needing rewired anyway according to my plans. Luckily I know a guy who can do it for me, the only problem is him finding the time to do it. I dont wanna be without my scoot over the sumer.
