Its the secondary air system for the catalyser. Pull the whole thing out of the silver box and leave it like that. Mines been like that and had no problems at all.

you can remove the silver box too, if i renenber correctly it goes into the transmission side, just block it off with a rubber grommet.

remove the tube leaving that silver/white part so u have a hole there and just shove a bolt or somthing like that to cover it.

    ;)

regarding that pipe does it act as a restrictor??

you could just leave it there hanging as it is. (unplugged)
It wont cause anyproblems, other than the looks.
I left mine and it was fine.

If you dont have a race pipe. It semi derestricts it.
Cutting that pipe off the exhaust and wealding up the hole on the std exhaust, will provide you with another 5mph top end. (speaking from experience)

the pipe SUCKS through it, doesent blow anything into there (theres a lil valve) it basicly puts air into the pipe to lower emmisions (altho its fucking pointless and literally a technicality, your bike makes the same fumes, theres just more air mix'd in so parts per million is reduced, SHIT basicly) just remove the exhaust, the 2 rubber joins and the metal link pipe. rejet, sort your rollers. have fun

you CAN remove the lot (basicly leaves a pipe going to the back of the tranny cover infront of the wheel....) just easier to leave on if you need to service on the book/mot/ for any reason have to put the pipe back on. never had a scoot fail on emmisions altho they CAN. just coz they dont test it, dont mean it SHOULD have passed ;) but thas irrelevent
