Hi all. Just wondering on what 2 stroke (scooters) are reliable enough to ride really long distances ? Like from portsmouth(south uk) to brighton(south uk) I dont know how many miles that is but theres usually a bike show thing every year so want to start going hence why i am asking.
Most of them, run on a good 2stroke oil. I’ve had 3 high mile minarrelis And a old piaggio typhoon air cooled with 30000 miles when I sold it on. None of them were any trouble but very well maintained And I have mechanical sympathy lol
Thank you for your reply sam. Id always use good 2 stroke oil anyway. I only asked because 2 stroke are easier to fix and im fed up with timing and valves ect on 4 strokes. Im trying to get another yamaha aerox 100 but cant find them anywhere, only 50's.
Yeah they are rare! There’s a phantom 100cc that needs a bit of attention on gumtree I think it’s only £250 looks really clean... same engine as the Aerox
Oooo sounds good aha. Theres not much for sale down here in the south tho. What are all the bikes with aerox engines ? Preferably AC ones tho
I saw that gumtree post. Its so nice but way too far away from me. I will be looking for bikes around £250. (Not yet tho) Any condition really as long as its not completly battered as ill be doing it up gradually.
Yes aha. I miss my old aerox 100 but had to sell as i moved and couldnt take it with me. Could you do a little list of the bikes with minerreli ac engines please
Early Aprilia sr Yamaha neo/slider/Aerox/jog/spy/bws Malaguti f12/f15/crosser. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head
Thats great thank you. I would love a malaguti phantom f12 but yamahas are more available to get so looks like ill be getting another aerox. Just not a LC version.
Aerox great bikes plenty about too but I think they only did a/c in the 100cc and they are rare as hens teeth
Oh right yes i forgot about that. Well i educate myself on the watercooled parts ect so i know how they work/ be fixed and i get a wc one ☺
Not much else to worry about over the a/c just the water pump. there usally a tad faster the l/c bikes
Ah thats good then. I remember my friends aerox 50 used to keep up with my 100 aerox for some readon lol
