hiya fellas has you may have seen in other posts i have a neos 100 well i wanna do the renthal handlebar conversion. the only thing stopping me is the light, horn, indicator switches etc there built in with the handlebar fairing.

i was wondering if the handlebar switches have to be on the handlebar for it too pass the mot next year or could i just cut out the holes for the switches in the top of the inner leg shield and fit them in there.

my second idea was to get the handlebar switch gear for an aerox but i dont realy wanna fook around chopping all the wiring up or does anyone know if there the same connection ends

    thanks for youre time fellas

thanks for youre advice mate but i rang round a few mot garages and they said they were unsure about it so i found vosa,s mot helpline and asked them. the lady i spoke too said theres no law on were the switches are they just have to be easily accesible. you guys might sting me for this but ive seen a few choppers in my time with the headlight, horn etc switches on a plate just under the seat and they got mot,d so thought id give it a bash anyway. you may call me a fool here but if all else fails when it comes to the bikes next mot the local test center guy who i go to all the time says if its not legal il just have to mot it for day time use only.

i had a quick chop and this is the work so far [IMG]

yes i have made a few mistakes cutting the holes out but they will be filled and the whole leg shield will be sorted

indicators ned to be accesibl wihtut removing your palms from the bars.... any other switch canbe anywhere (think your passing light counts as indicator rule if installed)

you could get the stage 6 switch gear, they come with a wireing digram which relates to a yamaha aerox, so your bike wont be a million miles off. i have never done any wireing on a bike before and i fitted one to mine fine.

    here it is:

no they come with a universal wiring diagram, which tells you what the wires coming out of the switchs are for

You got them on the right side? I got the Stage6 Switches and Quick Action Throttle, im pretty sure they can 'connect' together so form a tidy 1 looking unit, might swop mine over to the other side next to the Throttle, i'd have to have my mirror on the left side then though, hmmmmm... the wires come out from the right side of the Switches though so might look abit odd as I have plastic covers that cover all my wiring so that would kind of come out under the Throttle :-/ something to try when the weather is nicer! thinking about it I wish I got the black sets instead of the Chrome, ah well!

dont think they'd like the fact you'd have to take your hand off the bar just to indicate, also, for your own safety i wouldnt have the horn switch there either. If someone pulls out on your or something you need to make yourself as noticeable as you can as quickly as possible!

Good job I wont have to take my hand off anything to use the switches if theyre on the right as I think my thumb will still reach, will try it anyway.... but the guy above with the buttons all on the plastics, I dont like that idea, having to look down all the time to use something.
