today i got my lazer xpro and i got the restrictor taken out but ive lost a huge amount of power, take off is slow and only just reaches 40mph i also put in a white contra and 4g rollers im going to a mates to put my 3g back in to see if this is the case my set-up atm is polini cast iron 70 17.5 carb with 58 jet 9 roller polini vario polini super speed clutch kevlar belt white contra 4g rollers help much appreciated cheers
i think lazer x pros are just shit. i tried one on my zip sp before and it was soooo shit compared to the pther pipes i used. people said they need setting up diffrently but tbh i think that peepz only say to buy them because they give alright gains on a sport setup and theyre cheap, but if you actually wanna go fast then you want a diffrent pipe
i see what ur sayin J ive found the problem, my 4g were too heavy so i fitted my 3's bk in + my carb is loose from the manifold and airfilter so was sucking in air...need jubilee clips but shud ave the 21mm in soon so shud b flying
The Laser xpro is a very revvy pipe compared to most other sports pipes, it develops a lot of horse power at the top of the power band, but this comes at the price of low/mid range torque... that is why most people experiance their bikes actually going slower when they fit an xpro... to get the most out of the pipe, your whole transmission has to be set up to suit the different characteristics of the pipe... i used an xpro for quite a while, it was a good pipe once the tranny was set up properly, this takes time and patience....and yes my bike went slower when i 1st bolted it on in place of a zx
if you study this graph it will explain what you are experiancing http://en.scooter-attack.com/index2.php?main=/pskurven/kurve.php?s=&id=507
very good info there, i now understand,i got my pipe derestriced as there was like a restrictr and the begining of the pipe where it mounths to the engine, so far its running okay, but im on a 58 jet so im nt riding it much as its wrong and i do not have 6mm jets, although i do have my manual choke and 5mm jets for my 21mm carb so ima fit that on probably on the monday coming and see if power is anymore increased. also thinking of a open air filter, this a good idea? thanks
I am running a 72 jet in my Typhoon.....with the original air box and Malossi Red Sponge... You are running way too lean with a 58 jet with a 70 kit! If you get a free flow airfilter....you will have to go up to around a 88 to 100 jet, a lot more gas, and not much more proformance.... Your rollers are too light, I tried 4.25's, and mine ran crappy, and went back to 4.5's....Are you using your medium clutch springs? Hope this helps....
i see what your saying, im trying to ride my bike as little as possible, bcoz ive got my 21mm carb here with choke and jets ready to go on, just want my m8 to do it for me (lazy)...and seeing what you said, i could just get a red sponge too, as for the springs, i got 2 sets, one came fitted and ones that came ina bag had blue on them?....and the rollers are that light because i have the polini 9 roller vario and from what ive tested the bike runs best with these rollers.
