Re-spraying exhuast , how ? and what do i need?

    as my bike is erm , well lets say seen better days and im having to get wobbly to fix it :D im thinking of resraying my exhuast, i was just wondering whats the best sand paper , paint or anything else i would need to spray the exhuast black. and before the comments like look at the quides section or anything along them lines then i allready have and cant seem to find anything telling me what i need and what to do in order to spray an exhuast .

    spray it with petrol

    then throw a match at it and take pics so i can see.

    in all seriousness, sand down til its smooth using whatever grade of paper u like as its not that crucial, vht is pretty thick, then give a good coat of vht paint.

    but seriously, vipers are rubbish.

    yeah i know vipers are awful mate but i was getting a laser till the bike broke now repair bill comes before new exhuast so i just want to make it look abit more tidy , jst sand down and vht paint? no primer or lauquer?

    ahh right i understand ;)

    nah, no primer and no laquer, just a rub down and a clean, then a good coat of vht

    i use wire brush attachments if the exhaust is rusty, then scrub a bit with a scouring pad and some anti rust treatment, its a lot quicker than sanding anyhow :cool:

    cheers lads for the quick responce seems as its so cheap to do and seems easy (havent tried yet lol) im regretting not doing it sooner , and begining to think why dont more people do it lol makes bikes look so much better .
    i didnt realise how cheap vht paint is , i thought it qould be more expensive.
    Also while the exhuast is off anything else i should do to it, any other tlc should i attend to ? i read sometihng about de-carbonating them some where should i be doing this aswell?
