just seen THIS http://www.finn.no/finn/mc/used/object?finnkode=48478344&searchclickthrough=true for sale locally, its 2 bikes, one is good for the road, one is a write off i guess, its 30 years old, so no tax HMMMMMMM input anyone?
im sure i could turn a nice profit over on it, as its really cheap, and its a classic. need to speak to the wife first to see if i can afford it
Pipe or pump., if it's pipe = will replace all + clips/filter/seal/wave washer(new petrol whilst i'm at it.)). If pump = pre-mix,already sorted a neat little blank for pump's opening.using original mounting points+bolts, carb'll be a piece of...., really have not had time till now, exhaust's gonna be a pain in the butt to get off,mind- X3 screws on heatshield that I need to take off,as a little far forward to get to mounting bolt...got off rear star screw as had bit,but the french(bless them!!),only decided to pin the front two.grrrr.
Cable operated, not up on individual motor spec.designations., all I know is gotta s.load of papers and service history, have comprehensive manual an I've still not figured my totally exact model, though maybe 1 or 2?.
@ Mark Yours is a Viva 1 and will have either a Mikuni or a Gurtner oil pump. The electric oil pump is on Euro 2 engines and comes with a Dellorto CDI and an air pump on the front of the engine driven from the crank.
., Gurtner, already working on an upjet for the spannie after MOT/thinking C12% &work on that basis.,air pump sitch's good to know as have to work an appropriate blank. According to manual, mines a 100T,however did'nt take in continuance of earlier models...... End of day, they've got the reg.it's insured,no looking over the shoulder. .
Oops,correction....Gurtner carb, don't actually know what brand pump I have...till I get the exhaust off- that's gonna have to wait a little,as working on a 2.5 week timeline,vis-a-vis part(s) delivery an me having a clear weekend (even thinking of putting some classical music on radio. . ).
Mark, I might be wrong, but if you remove the air pump, dismantle the innards and put the top back on with a gasket, won't that blank the hole off?
A short length of hose and some Jubilee clips will sort that out. @ Scuba The air pump is the other side of the right hand crank seal, so I don't think that part of the crankcase gets pressurised. It's got the magneto inside it, so putting fuel/air mixture into an area with electrical stuff in it is a bad idea (unless it's the cylinder barrel, naturally).
