When i tilt my runner to the right i get a horrible grinding noise my friend recons its the starter it cant be, it would make sence if it was to the left but not to the right it sounds like someone is constantly pulling the kickstart down while its running :confused:cratch: what do you recon??

It sounds like either kickstart shaft, or its quadrant gear is moving and touching the variator.

Make sure the kickstart shaft has the circlip still fitted on the outside holding it in place, and make sure the kickstart quadrant has its locating spring fitted.

Its also worth making sure the starter bendix is retracting properly.

thomas got it in one, will be your kickstasrt rubbing.. chances are the spring is out of place/its stiff as fuck/missing the circlip and some washers from behind the kickstart arm.. any one of these will let your starter throwout gear (pawl) sit slightly out of the case and rub on the starter dog (thing the starter locks to on the crank)

have this with most bikes tbh, remidy is just refit the washers/circlip and/or set the spring in the correct place so the starter pulls further back. some have damage to the case where the spring's been rubbing (will never get rid of the noise if this is the case)
