Hi, im starting my project next week nd i was wondering how do i paint the part where the key is and where you step, it looks like a difficult texture to paint. What would i have to do so it could look shiny? thanx alot.
You cover up the ignition barrel when you paint it, some people choose to take it out. Also you take the panels off to paint.
LOL he didnt mean that you use filler primer, couple cans of that shit, then sand it back till its flat, then primer, then paint, flat it off, then clear, flat it off, then buff to shine, give it 6 months and it will crack off.. its fine to paint it, but as soon as you put weight on it the paint cracks/flakes away. put bluntly, if you have to ask, your NWEVER gonna get paint to shine like showroom paint (wich is actually a shit finnish in my eyes) let alone paint inner plastic pannels.. read up/get some practice in or just plain pay somone else to do it
yep i prob get my dad to do it as he is a paint inspector and foreman for boats and shit lol, he would use the gun thing to paint it instead of spray can, most prob he would know what you mean lol. thnx alot.
if he knows about spraying tell him to treat them like soft bumpers (the plastic is called a.b.s) anyone who can spray up blank basic bumpers into body coloured bumpers can do this.. just remember they will look good UNTILL you bend them/put weight onto them/put your feet on them so its a pritty shit thing to do really....
you can get a plasticize for the paint which make the paints a bit flexible...it helps stop minor cracking but wont stop it completely
ok, thanx. I'll have to decide weather to paint it or not. I'm still waiting for the bike to come, it shouldve been here yesterday.
theres 2 ways to stop it flaking.... ether dont paint it or once there done put them on, never take them off and NEVER touch them ever again, forget resting your feet on them thas for sure.
