    Hi guys,

I went out riding the other day and was on a 60mph road and managed to get up to 55mph, i went back into town and i had a few problems going up hill i could just about hit 20mph then was struggling to get to 30 on flat ground.

When i stopped to go into a shop, come back out to my scoot started it up and it cut out pretty much instantly i got it going after 15 minutes with out cutting out.

Turned it on today and if i didnt give it any revs it was cutting out instantly but with the revs on a loud clicking noise was coming out of the crank casing and once again if i closed the throttle it cut out.

I think it maybe to do with the clutch maybe a spring but im not sure does any one know what might be causing this any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks, Furby

i second marks opinion sounds like crank bearings to me buddy , then again saying that as its a for stroke is the valve timing properly adjusted , that clicking sound could be the piston hitting the valves :(

Thanks mark, have been searching on google but i can never seem to find what im looking for , motorbike madness was where my scoot was originally purchased from been on there site a few times my mechanic wants to charge £15 for the part and the rest for labour ( they know what side there breads buttered ). With cmpo where there are so many different variations of my scoot its hard to get the parts to fit even if it says its for my bike. I can now see why people don't like Chinese scoots

    F..k 'em,don't give up!,they always add on % to take into account wages/shop costs/greed,etc.etc.
Cmpo (llexetre?),when i was casting about for new wheels/ne50,i think that's the site that has a
    send us your measurements/pictures/specs,etc.
Get a summerised(itemised!) bill off the mechanics befire!they start work to see if you can save on
    costs (inc.p+p!) .
And do seriously cast about for sites pukka for your ride and run a little black book on each (no matter-
how little they supply!-sometimes even that one tiny screw's a biggie),doing it that way you can organise
y/self,bulk-ish buy an save on postage. :D .

Never owned one,but it would appear most people think chinese scoots are s...e as it's
very early days for them,my own view is you can't get such a large manufacturing platform
that concerned about quality control or provide reasonable expectations.

i might start a book up as you suggested, to be honest i love my scoot i have only taken it out twice so far bought her for £100 from a friend when he was thinking of scraping it and i have spent about £400-£500 getting it road worthy.

It does seem to be expense around every corner. When it is working it smooth and such a joy to ride, i went around a corner the other day and there was a pot hole immediately after which i couldn't avoid, i hit it and my scoot just bounced over it with out much bother.

Overall they can be good scoots but as said the parts are hard to come by and they don't seem to be as reliable as other scoots

if the bearings are on the way out do not use it !! it will make it worse and you will be pushing it back , to replace main bearings it will require a full engine rebuild and from a mechanic if he will even touch it with it being Chinese it will set you back around £400+ i would scrap it and buy a branded 2 stroke like a Yamaha or a piaggio or a gilera or a aprilia , and £40 quid for brake pads is ridiculous for my aprilia there a tenner and about 15 min to fit my self

Hi guys, i feel abit of a muppet.

Started my scoot up today to make a video to put up so you guys could hear the noise and i noticed the clicking noise is only there when i have the throttle half open and the rear brake on. As i release the rear brake the clicking stops i had a quick look online and it sounds like something to do with the rear brake drum.

I dont usually release my rear brake when working on my scoot as it muffles some of the noise and stops the neighbors complaining, once i noticed this i tested the rear brakes by walking with the scoot then putting it on and they do seem spongy.

I dont know whether to risk riding to the mechanics tomorrow to get a quote he isn't far away pretty much a straight road and get a quote, But i think i am go to start putting some money away and save for another scoot
