If I put a 53 plate engine into a 57 plate bike and let Dvla know will they change the plate on the bike
Or is it just a case of changing engine and changing details with Dvla and ride???

just change the engine and details, the plate goes with the chassis not the motor

engine numbers usually stamped on the main casing normally at the rear wheel end, sometimes surface corrosion makes it difficult to spot.

as scubabiker said vehical reg will stay the same just fill your log book in with the new details, new engine Number and cc etc.. and send it off usually takes a couple of weeks, and check the details are correct when you get your log book back ;)

    Thanks
I'll have a better look later..
Auto choke is different on this model also
    I think the engines a nrg mc2/3 on a 53 plate
How do i tell what engine/carb I've got to get correct part??
    Engine transplant was smooth tbh

    Looks like I gave a mc2/3 engine
    Well the engine is in
1st problem..need to connect vacuum pipe from tank flow as there's no feed from behind reed on this engine
The donor bike had fuel tank behind seat high up so gravity fed the carb but 07 bike has it between feet so vacuum fed I think
    Is this correct???
Bike ran but then died within 1 minute like fuel starved!!
Just need this running so I can sell bikes and spares

Ive fitte the same engine mate, you need the nrg mc3 carb with a vacuum nipple on the carb, or buy a bigger carb with vaccum nipple.

On th nrg power theres a vacuum feed/nipple on the inlet manifold bit of engine case, you can suck the vaccum pipe an fuel should flow through :)

    Hi oli
It must be a mc3 engine then as I've found the nipple and just need to connect it and get the fuel running through..
Yea power engine had it behind the reed setup and this is where the bottle boost connects into so I'm told
Did you see my earlier message about engine oli??
