Ok so fitted the stage6 quick action (cables straight to carb for premix), but it revs way to high and wants to take off while on the stand. Ive adjusted the idle but the problem is if i take the cable off the thing that the quick action goes around so that it has a TINY INCY WINCY bit more slack, it runs fine :/ (the white circle thing showed in the picture)

Im pretty sure ive adjusted all the cable so i cant make it anymore slacker

Anyone have any ideas? dont want to get a new cable made up when its a tinyiest bit of slack i need

I have a runner 172, with 28mm slide carb if that helps

    Thanks

are you running pre-mix now?? it does sound like the slide might not be in properly.

Yeah ive just fitted the quick action today to start running pre-mix, so the cable goes straight to the carb. I put a little oil in the tank as i dont know how much petrol is left in there and i only wanted to start the bike to check if the throttle would work but then found out it wouldnt run properly.

I will have a look at the slide tommorow thanks :) , wish i had a bigger shed so i could work on it now :(

cool, the smoke might just be too much oil mix. you should re-jet when moving from a pump to pre-mix as the oil going in with the fuel changes the mixture.

Gotta be that the cable isn't long enough. You have an adjuster on both the throttle and the carb as well so if it's only a tiny bit and you haven't done that yet you might be able to.
