Pulse Scout 49 problems

    I have a 2011 Pulse Scout 49 on 12,000 miles.It has been deresticricted via the pink wire from the CDI.The bike was going well.The drive belt snapped so I replaced the belt and also a new standard variator kit.Between the original variator pulleys was a spacer.On fitting the new kit I left this out.The issue I have now is that the acceleration is slower and I have lost about 5 mph from the top speed.When I get to 30 mph the engine seems to be revving more.I had no issues before so can anyone suggest what the problem can be.
    Any help would be appreciated.
