Took out the Jonway for first time just up the road.
When it pulled away it felt like there was something holding it back a bit. It took quite a few revs to get going, but did get up to a reasonable speed. More use to a Royal Enfield 500cc bike. Is this normal, as I have never ridden one before.

Was the engine kind of stuttering or jerking at the same time or was it smooth?

No engine was fine, checked tyres air pressure, as it felt like a flat tyre, and it was. There was no air in front tyre although it was not flat like normal. Feels a bit better now. Will have to see if that was the trouble.

Could be the clutch, they can be a bit like that when cold sometimes

Hi Scuba, Yes that is possible. I think the main thing was a lack of air in tyres. Zero in front and about 5psi in the back. But the grandson tells me it goes fine now that it has had a bit of a run. It has been standing around for at least a year, so things need to get used again. Anyway number 1 grandson is now over the moon, has been on it most of the time today. Even though we have lousey weather. The joys of youth.
