Project JP-180-2 'Revival'

Well I can now make a start on my new project :cheers:

Bought this from Sh0x earlier today. Gonna have a good look at it tomorrow and make a list on what needs doing.

FIRST UPDATE hock: (02/12/2009)

Today was planage. Removed today was:

Oil tank
Seat
Clips
Shock
Battery
Seat bucket

Then we put the seat bucket back on for mock up and to design the rear until I get hold of some SR panels to start the front. Oh yeah, pretty sure that I need a clip to hold the ignition in, there is one on the back, but I imagine if there was 1 in the middle next to the tube it will hold it in place.

Frame was quite rusty, not sure yet, but thinking after the modifications to powdercoat it white.

Here is a pic of the shock, going to be replaced with a flashy shock



Here is a pic of the centre stand, not sure whether to keep it on or just use side stand, but for convienience (sp) I'd like both.

Here is a close up pic of the design. The dotted line is the frame the other side. The thick line is the line of the panels. The big circle is the frame support. The small circle is the plan for another frame support. There is a arrow where I plan to cut the frame, just after the shock support, then making the back a bit custom with the other support.



Here shows the CBR RR rear which has been cut up a bit for mock up but will be lower so it won't look silly.



Here is a pic of the seat bucket. I plan to take off about 2cms height to bring the panel down. Planning on using a CBR RR seat. Also going to hack the shit out of the seat bucket so can get a nice undertray on there.



That's about it for now .. Going to NEC Birmingham to have a look obv at bikes n bits etc but going to look out for things to add to the runner, maybe some bars, levers, clocks n any random bits I see.

UPDATE (05/12/2009)

Wellllllll I was at the NEC motorcycle show and I saw what I originally wanted to do to the front end of a runner. So I bought them and scrapped the idea of SR panels. Going to do a r1 front end ish, making it up as I go along

Here's the beautys:









I thought that it would look better than the SR front end so the whole bike is smoooooth. See some renthals I wanted today too and decided on paint scheme :mrgreen: Graphite grey and white. Graphite grey renthals with white stem. Graphite grey powdercoated frame and engine. White engine brace, footrest hangers, transmission casing. Not sure on forks and wheels yet. Maybe grey wheels with white rim tape, maybe white or grey forks.

But yeah, glad I went today :mrgreen:

This is going to be expensive, aprillia rs rear panels and seat , new shape sr front panel, gunna be spending like 200 just getting the panels let alone going around to fibreglass them lol

Yeah Rick, plan to get very mad with fibreglass. Not in that pic is my design for the rad panel, that's gonna be changed n load of other stuff too.

Fire, you going down, my bros gonna kick your ass. I thought about it, if I spend 4-600 on a almost complete/needs work bike I'd be skint. Whereas this one I can throw cash at it when I have it, no rush. It's a Virgin rep (dream machine) r6, quite beasty

Giltyph, yeah I wanna build this up from what it is, into a beast, showing how much work was needed to be done rather than doing up a mint bike. Overhauling everything so it's fresh, powdercoating, new parts the lot. Plan for engine is my old 180 that I loved, 25mm carb, 12.5g rollers, green springs, PM59 then from there get some porting done n add bits as I go along.

Yeah greg gonna be hard finding the SR panels n headlight, so if anyone knows of any, let me know
