Basically I have recently bought a Piaggio Typhoon 50, 2003 model. It being moreless 8 years old I would assume it's derestricted. It also has a Leo Vince ZX which looks fairly used, so I would assume that that's be derestricted aswell.

    However..

I would be lucky to reach 35mph with this scooter..

I dont know too much about bikes, but I think that it's something to do with the rollers or belt..

I also have a performance air filter on it, fuel consumption is VERY VERY high..

Any advice on how to make my scooter faster without expensive products..

get on ebay and buy a stock air box and filter. that should sort the fueling cost and will give you more speed.
check the belt for wear if could be really old
    check the clutch material
check the rollers for any flat spots

if it was me id give it a good service
    new rollers
    new belt
    new clutch
    new filter foam

then all you need to do is jet the carb to match the pipe

while you at it you might aswell check the brake material
    throttle and brake cable,s
    fuel line
    bearings
    and transmission oil
then that way you know its all done and then you can start giving it regular services at the recomended miles.

my mate got a old zip that hadnt been looked after and it was fooked doesnt take 10 mins to give everything a quick check and replace anything that needs soorting some peaple just run them into the ground then wonder why there bikes dont work
