Has anyone had the same problem? Problem: the speed indication part of the display is very erratic, the speed jumps from 10mph to 67 or 165 etc etc :wtf: (digital display) The rest of the display like petrol gauge etc works fine though. Someone has said to me that Ice speedo's are known to do this and theres a way to stop it happening by re-wiring them somehow? any ideas as to what might help.....could it just be the speedo drive part on the wheel etc? please help I don't really like my son going out on it as it is......1 speeding fine already and he's also running in a bore kit at the mo imp:
take the speedo drive off, clean out all the grease and gunk, clean out the crap in the wheel, re-grease with fresh (if the cable come seperate to the drive, remove that too and clean it) then put it back together, had this problem with my derbi, turned out to be metallic chunks in the grease causing the magnet that activates the reed switch to spread it's megnetic field and cause the reed switch to work incorrectly.
well i thought i would take mine out to put a different coloured led or whatever in but looked like a sealed unit to me.
ice speedos.... dont play with em please. not worth it. can just get some tint film in any colour and stick it over it.
i got quoted £140 for one lol. only £25 on ebay so its all good.
