problem starting

    i got a zip sp runing 21mm carb i left it 4 a while and was hard to get starting i manage to get it start was on chock soon as i tyokk it off it stoped wont start again then came bk to the next day petrol is coming from the over flow and the float bowl r they prone the gasets messing up


    it keeps floading it self i have not changed the of the jets on it since i put a new piston on it so i dnt see y cheers

    Sounds like a sticky float! Try cleaning out the floatbowl and float. Or just replace it and get a new floatbowl gasket!

    if the bikes been stood for ages then the fuels probably gone off in the carb. This leaves a crud/varnish coating around the jets. If its flooding then the needle and jet will want cleaning out.

    also make sure the air filter is clean. This could make it run lean...hence it stalling when you shut off the choke (reducing the richness of the mixture by doing so). You dont say whether the bike was fully warmed up when you shut off the choke

    BTW, swapping pistons wont affect the jet used

    ok fella i will give a clean and get bk to u and it was warm i just put it down to the not begin started 4 a while i did not think a new piston would change anything stuiped qustion really
