right ive done loads of search's on pm tunings pro street kit (172). basically im at the stage where i need to be ordering a 172 kit. now i know alot of people are saying there shit. but has anybody actually had one ??? chances are im going to get the tried and tested malossi. i just want the best kit for my money, seen as neither kit is cheap..

basically my plans are 172 kit (either)... malossi varo, 28mm carb pm55/59 or tdr and im undecided on what crank, i was going to go long stroke but i cant find anyone local to do the porting to get the best from the crank.. so whats cranks best to go for.. i'd apreciate advice from someone that knows what there on about lol. e.g builds bikes or has had these parts.

ive got the money sat here waiting but cant make my mind up. if i go for every bolt on part without porting what kind of figure can i be hitting (bhp) im asking alot i know.
i just dont wanna waste my money.. the bike is basically a road bike (obv not sprinting but i want it to be fast) P.S ITS A RUNNER 125 2T

Don't do it. It's a chinese copy of a 172 kit with a very small amount of port work done. It's also more money than a malossi kit.

Get a BGM 52 if you don't want to go for a long stroke. You could always send your bits to minor to get the work done.

Bhp depends on the dyno. Could be 20-21 or 17-18ish.

pm kits are more than usable... but i really wouldent use one out of the box.. square port? no thanks. will be a little better than a malossi out the box but i cant really comment on how long they last.. ive seen them fail quickly yet have seen some last well, with lots of abuse. deffo need the exhaust port sorting tho, as for there silly big stub, they break, alot..

basicly, use a malossi, if your planning on porting the kit the pm will be a cheaper option as you get a high compression head wiht it and its less work than a malossi for the same power. if your just going for a bolt on then malossi all the way. i wouldent waste my money on pm products tho.

thanks for the advice guys. i think im gonna go malossi with bolt on items. then maybe next year get some port work done, i'll be happy with 21bhp for a road bike, its plenty quick enough and pretty much bulletproof reliability wise. looks like it'll be the bgm crank then :) . once again thanks

just to throw another spanner in the works.. has anyone actually backed the claims that you get 25hp out of the pm kit with a pm59 and a 25mm carb.. sounds to good to be true and to be fair too easy ??

bhp is dependant on the dyno you use... its an irelevent fact wiht all the nonsence spread about. 25bhp on pm's dyno doesent mean its 25bhp. so chasing a number is a waste of time.

as i said, they are a little better out the box than a malossi, altho the matching issues in my opinion would cause a lesser lifespan. a malossi kit wiht a 32mm exhaust exit and the same head would make the same power, and probably last longer.

dont chase irelevent numbers, dont listen to claims of power... the question is, what does a malossi kit make wiht a pm59 and a 25mm carb? :D

i apreciate the advice pal. and im going to use it. 100 percent ordering the malossi kit. and i think i'll go for the bgm 52 crank. although i'll definatly be needing your services in the near future minor, when i get bored of the power lol.

i found a company local to me that do porting and flowing, but i dont think i'd trust anyone else but you or shiny to do it. porting is definatly on the cards for me. just not yet as the whole bike needs a revamp. bolt ons for now it is... porting after that
