Forklift. You do not need a driving licence to operate one.* Counterbalance will set you back c£500.00(5day course)c£600.00 combination (Counterbalance/Reach). I would not advise doing a combination course - keep them separate/they are 2 different vehicles & you should concentrate on specifics. Fair wages should start at c£9.00 +,experience counts/so will wages with it. It's a good jag to start if your young/pretty much guaranteed to give you earnings for life. Hours vary massively, lot of cheap arse employers about......use your f$&-+in head, build up a rep.settlle into some at good. *....you will occasionally stray onto public roads- but for the most, you'll be on an industrial estate/irredgardless police won't bother much..
Ridiculous the fact they make you do a refresher course every two years on the counter balance considering your using the forklift 5days a week lol
Haven’t done it for about 10years now I guess I’d have to take the full test again, wouldn’t get away with the refresh lol !?
However, DON'T be a forklift mechanic... It's a shit job. Sometimes literally shit. Like broken down on a mushroom farm shit.. Or impaling your hand on a rusty plate on a truck from a slaughterhouse.....
